About Rohini Picnic Spot
Not long ago, Rohini was a remote and underdeveloped area despite its proximity to Siliguri and Kurseong. The local population depended on horses, mules, and long walks to access basic necessities like rations, medicine, and education in Kurseong. Rohini was initially known only for its tea garden, planted in the lower parts of the hill.
The transformation began when the Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council (DGHC) took the initiative to connect Rohini with Siliguri and Kurseong by improving the roadways. This road now serves as one of the main routes linking the plains with the hills.
